                             Physical Fitness, ability of the human body to function with vigor and alertness, without undue fatigue, and with ample energy to engage in leisure activities, and to meet physical stresses. Muscular strength and endurance, cardiorespiratory integrity, and general alertness are the overt signs of physical fitness.

            In this article, we shall discuss mainly two problems of Physical Fitness. Knock-knees (Genu valgum), and Flate foot.

These problems are not so serious that make your life difficult, but when you apply at any Armed Force, these problems may put you in trouble. In this article, I shall define some methods to decrease these problems.

 

Knock-knees

                        Commonly referred to as "knee-knocking" and in medical language called "Genu valgum". It is alignment of the knee with the tibia laterally deviated (valgus) with relation to the femur. They are classified as angular deformities.

 

 

Knock-knees can be identify while standing straight, and feet joined. In this condition, if knees remain apart then you are normal otherwise knock-kneed.

 

How to cure?

                  This deformation cannot be cured 100%. But you can correct this problem 30% to 60% with routine of some exercise. It can be 95% cured temporarily after exercise. So before going to medical examination, perform a good amount of following exercises:

 

1. Its one cause is Flat Feet. So if you have flat feet, cure it also. People with knock-knees usually walk with the bulk of their weight on the in-step (inner arch) of their feet. To remedy this condition, they should walk their arches raised and with their weight concentrated on the outer rim of their soles.

In doing so, the knees will separated naturally. You can also use special shoes (or inserts) for it described in flat feet.

 

2. Take a foot ball of normal size. Put it between your knees, stand straight, and try to join your feet as much as you can. In this condition, your knees will be much apart. Then do some easy exercises while football must be tight between your knees. For example, sit and stand slowly, twist your upper torso, try to walk, and try to jump. Remember that Ball must be tight between your legs.

Do this exercise at least daily for 15-20 minutes. This will give you good result Insha-Allah.

 

3. Horse riding is also helpful to remedy this problem.

 

 

Flat Feet:

                  The foot is subject to numerous deformities and disabilities, including flatfoot, which is caused by weakened muscles and ligaments of the arch. Most serious is talipes, or clubfoot, a usually congenital deformity caused by shortening of muscles and tendons. The foot is also a frequent site of arthritis, including gout.

 

                   Flat feet is generally by born disorder but weakness of muscles also may be its cause. Similar with Knock-knees, it is not harmful in common life, but can be cause of pain in lower legs after vigorous exercise such as constant running and jumping etc. Complete flat feet cannot be cured, but it also need support.

 

 

How to cure?

                  Minor flat feet can be cured easily but not 100%. First thing you always remember is walking style. To remedy this condition, you should walk trying your arches raised and with your weight concentrated on the outer rim of your soles. Second thing is artificial support.

 

Special shoes and inserts (in soles) are available in the market for this problem. Try to obtain them and whenever you go to walk or jogging, must place the inserts into your shoes or wear special shoes.

 

This will help you to change your feet shapes. After 1 or 2 months, you will see the difference Insha-Allah.
